What Fans, Participants, and Admirers of the Burning Man Opera Have to Say About It

I'm sure you have had tons of response on this year's performance. I for one
saw it for the first time, and was blown away. I would definitely say (and
I have been) that the opera was my peak experience of the burning man festival
this year. What a beautiful and spirit moving performance. The spires melting
were sooooo beautiful! It seemed as though the fire was breathing and dancing. BRAVO!
Keep the beauty! ..

temple was fantastic, the performers were terrificly bizarre and beautiful,
and the music was top notch! I was so intriged by the look of each different
clan and their members that I wished I could find out their whole wonderous
story of who and what each performer was portraying- And who or what were
those incredible insect headed gods on the temple! I find my self unable to
stop thinking about it! Totally bewitching!.......

was so moved by the performance that I knew I had to help if another opera
was going to be created for next year. What can I do? I'm a professional artist,
so I could do body paints, or mask making. I have, and play, a drum. I would
love to dance. I would like to offer this, and.

I was not in the play. But then I felt like I was. Thank you so much for making
my Saturday night so wonderful. If you could see my smile on my face you would
smile too. I love you all......

of the bands and musicians that performed at the OPERA at Burning Man98.....The
show was out of this world!!!!!!.....

was extremely powerful.........

I do want to say that I'm sure I'll be heavily involved again next year. I'm
also sure it'll be like that night I thought of not performing in Rudra...once
I saw Pepe out there, my heart clenched, I felt the amazing Power coming together...and
I knew I wanted to be a part of it NO MATTER WHAT!!! I'm sure it'll be the
same next year.......

Hiya Pepe! I was one of your Melancholic Monks in the show this year and I
just want to tell you that it was a very rewarding experience for me! I joined
because I resonated so well with the Melancholic Sect. The Melancholics also
held a very sacred space throughout the days and nights, and this I felt gave
the performance a distinctly sanctified aura as the play culminated in the
Temple Burn. I would very much like to offer my services and skills for your
next production.........

Sounds like Pepe, Christopher and Twan had a very enlightening experience
in Haiti. Based upon Twan's description of your experiences, the 1999 version
of the BM opera will likely be spectacular.........

I am coming to Burning Man this year, which will be my second appearance,
and would like to participate in the Opera. I watched the opera last year,
and was fascinated by it. I live in Arizona, but I can come to the Bay area
semi-regularly, and I really would like to participate. If this is possible,
please let me know.......

drumming at the SF beachburn is a good example of how spirit can be translated
into drumming. This is what we need magnified x1000 . Can you imagine 1000
drummers passing the spirit of voodou drumming around and into the air. The
effects on the people will create the setting and feeling for the opera. magic
will be in the air.......

tower of the Temple of Rudra.I am so grateful to each of you for your contributions
that make the Burning Man all that it is. At last year's Opera I wanted to
be inside the circle so bad, it made me feel cheated in a way to be an observer.
