The Theme Camp Locator is an Excel spreadsheet that helps burners
print out where their friends will be,
or what other theme camps they might be interested in,
before they head for the playa.

How to Use the Theme Camp Location Organizer.

First, download the theme camp locator.

Next, make a back-up copy of the file. Then you have two choices:

For a list of theme camps organized by frontage location:

Simply print it. (To print click on: File / Page Setup / select Landscape / Sheet / Check the boxes for: Gridlines, and Row and Column Headers). In the same visit, you can touch base with all nearby theme camps of interest.

For a list of theme camps of interest with attached notes, organized with camps on the same frontage street listed next to each other:

Sort the working copy by Theme Camp Name. (To sort: highlight all columns, but only the rows with theme camp names, then click on Data / Sort / Check the No Header Rows box / follow selection by the letter at the top of the column). Move the window with the sorted list into the bottom half of your monitor screen.

Open the Theme Camp List in the Burning Man web site. Move the window with the Burning Man Theme Camp List into the top half of your monitor screen. Scroll through the Burning Man Theme Camp List.

When you find a theme camp of interest, find the theme camp name in the Location Organizer in the bottom half of your monitor screen. Make a note in the Notes column of the Location Orgainzer. Some theme camps fly below radar, so you will not find all theme camp names in the Organizer.

Once you have noted all theme camps of interest (this takes about 4 hours), sort the Theme Camp Location Organizer again, first by the Notes column, then by the Frontage column, then the Cross Street column. You now have a list of the Theme Camps of interest to you, grouped so that camps on the same frontage street are listed next to each other. In the same visit, you can touch base with all nearby theme camps of interest.

Print only the rows (theme camps) in which you entered notes - they should be the top rows after sorting. Printing a version sorted by Notes, Cross Street, then Frontage, helps find near by camps on a cross street.
